I’m 60 years old and own a dairy distribution business which means lots of climbing, lifting, and.......aching joints. I’ve been taking turmeric along with peppercorns ( to help with absorption) when someone recommended Smarter Nutrition’s Curcumin. I’ve been taking it for almost two weeks now and already notice less pain in my knees and shoulders. In addition ( since I’ve eliminated the pepper ) I don’t worry about irritating my intestines. So far I’m one happy customer.
My husband and I are on our 6th bottle of Smarter Curcumin. My husband feels like it has possibly helped some of his aches and pains. I don’t feel like it has been helpful for my sciatica issues, achy feet and shoulder discomfort. Furthermore, in my research, it stated that it would help lower triglycerides and cholesterol. In both of our cases after our recent blood work, our triglycerides remained fine but our cholesterol was so high that our doctor put us on statins. Therefore, any claims regarding improved cholesterol must be viewed with skepticism. We’ve been very consistent by taking this product daily as recommended. We are near the end of our 6th bottle and will stop taking it when done. If we are feeling more discomfort once we discontinue it, I will update this review. Also, at the top of one of the bottles, it said to go to their website for a free bottle. I tried that and couldn’t see anywhere to get one. Did anyone using this product actually get a free bottle?
This is AMAZING. I had knee and hip pain. I'm 50. My hip was so bad, that when I would get up after sitting, I could barely walk. Nights were awful. It was all on my left side and I sleep on both sides. I couldn't sleep I was in so much pain. I ended up taking ibuprofen all the time, which isn't good. I started taking this on March 8th and noticed a difference within 2 wks. I don't know what I'd do without it and tell everyone about it. Thank you so much!

I keep a steady stock of Ascent Native Fuel on hand for many needs and purposes. Vanilla Bean is the best tasting Vanilla Whey I have ever laid lips on and is my daily use, Chocolate makes for awesome whey to cook healthy, sweet treats and awesome post dinner indulgent shakes with and the Unflavored I use in the mornings with almond milk for a nice wake me up. I also use their Micellar Casein every night before bed for slow release recovery and it makes an awesome casein pudding. For the important parts, this is a very lean protein profile made from natural processes and ingredients. I am in the gym with very heavy activity6 - 7 days per week with varying lifts of 1000 rep programs, supersets, and full concentration workouts and find recovery better with Ascent than any other protein Ive used and rebuilding muscle for the following gym day has yet to meet me with down time.Additionally I travel 45 weeks or more per year and the ability to easily roll/fold up the bag and keep and air tight seal without having to pack white powder in un-marked baggies or carry a big tub that takes up far too much space in my luggage is a huge packaging plus. Their single serving pouches makes for friendly race day carry alongI highly recommend the use of Ascent.
I’ve used roughly 10 lbs of Ascent Protein, and have been using whey protein for more than 10 years. I can safely say that this is my favorite protein. What I like:- Easy mixing - they don’t lie when they say you can mix 1 scoop in 4oz of water- Taste: the chocolate is just amazing and the vanilla is good - I would definitely recommend the chocolate- Easy on the stomach: While I’ve never had too many issues with whey I can personally say that I’ve had 0 issues with this. My wife on the other hand has had lots of issue with whey/her stomach, and this is one of the few proteins she can use - + she loves it!Only improvement I’d recommend is make the vanilla taste as good as the chocolate.
I'm impressed with the ingredients, both the types and quantities. Just a handful of ingredients vs. 20+ with other proteins. The product smells like cocoa, a very faint cocoa, but it just smells like a real food. As weird as it probably sounds, I like that it doesn't have sand in it, like most protein mixes. I know the sand used in other protein mixes is safe to consume, but I never really enjoyed the thought that I was drinking sand.I drink this type of stuff for sustenance, so I'm not too picky on the taste, but it actually has a decent taste. With 8 ounces of water, it's too thin to taste like much. 6 ounces of water and you can taste the chocolate a little more, it's good enough, but certainly not great. With 4 ounces of water, it just tastes like a hot chocolate drink that has cooled. This is the first protein powder I've tried where it actually tastes good with just 4 ounces of water. The less liquid I have to drink to get the protein I'm looking for, the happier I am. Others have more sugar or sugar substitute added so that it tastes better based on the 8 ounce standard. This has less sugar and so it can't support that much liquid and still taste good. I don't see it as a problem though because now it's just like a quick shot of chocolate protein and I'm good. Not some drink that I'm trying to choke down.My only complaint is the packaging. I can't stand these bags that some protein manufacturers use. Maybe it's more environmentally friendly, I don't know. I ended up pouring it into a large tupperware type container that's used for storing flour. Protein needs to be shaken up every now and then and it's risky to do so with these types of bags because they are very hard to seal. So put it in a solid contain so you can shake it up without flinging protein dust everywhere.Good stuff though. After 10 years of consuming maybe 30 different brands of protein, I think I've found a good one here.
